Webinar: Asset Criticality

Asset Criticality - What You Need to Know
Thursday, January 20, 2022 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST
Presenter: James R. Olson

Prevent and/or mitigate major incidents by developing an asset criticality assessment and help prioritize inspection, testing, and preventative maintenance (ITPM) activities for your assets.  The detailed asset criticality assessment will also set priorities for Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) reviews and apply root cause analysis (RCA) on asset failures.  You will also be able to identify necessary spare parts and redundancy to reduce risks for the plant during the project design phase and during operation.

Join us on January 20, 2022 and hear an overview of asset criticality and the different methods for conducting an asset criticality assessment.  Jim Olson will divide the presentation into three phases:

  1. Preparation – Learn about the key elements for performing a successful criticality assessment, including alignment with business objectives, definition of terms, necessary data collection, organizational communication, and potential pitfalls.
  2. Analysis – Review the differences between a risk-based and consequence-based analysis, who should participate, how to make sense of results, and some of the tools used across industries.
  3. Next Steps – Learn how to get the most out of the criticality assessment in the development and optimization of ITPM plans and prioritization of ITPM activities, as well how to sustain the criticality assessment results.

What You Will Learn:

  • What is an Asset Criticality Assessment
  • Communication of Asset Criticality to the organization
  • Alignment with business objectives
  • The benefits and pitfalls of performing an Asset Criticality Assessment
  • Risk-based vs. consequence-based analysis
  • Who should be involved in the Asset Criticality Assessment
  • What to do with the output

Who Should Attend:

  • Plant engineers across all disciplines working in reliability, mechanical integrity, asset integrity management, and maintenance roles
  • PSM engineers and managers
  • Project engineers and managers
  • Managers and supervisors involved in asset management, reliability and maintenance
  • Consultants for refining, petrochemical, and chemical industries
  • Can also be beneficial for the fossil fuel utility, pulp and paper, nuclear energy, and other industries that use and maintain assets to produce their products and services
